“Kids Earth Fund's mission is to facilitate innovative artistic experiences for children, as a means of developing communication, expression and understanding through art.” The KEF mission will be achieved through the funding of, and facilitation of visual arts programs in: - Metropolitan and rural communities
- Quick response workshops responding to community needs (for example the Bushfire workshops)
- Building links with schools from around the world
- Supporting children’s artistic development
- Supporting teachers who have limited resources and expertise, to incorporate professional art based program regularly into their curriculum
- International exhibition, workshops and cultural exchange programs
- Children’s Exhibitions
We use learning about art as a metaphor for life: Art is utilised as an educational and communication tool to: - Help children make sense of what they see and feel
- Document an event or experience of a child’s life
- Support children to work with the opportunities that mistakes can provide rather than to fear them
- Encourage lateral thinking and social imagination
- Provide a platform for different perspectives to be developed, heard and valued
- Build bridges between communities at the local and global levels
- Act as a healing device for children affected from natural disasters
- Encourage cooperative learning and active participation
- Foster a society with a greater sense of ecological awareness
